Dr. Michael Azain, Professor Emeritus in Animal and Dairy Science Department of the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia, United States of America, served as resource person in a webinar via Zoom on March 22, 2022 sponsored by the College of Agriculture (CA), University of Southern Mindanao. Dr. Azain is a prominent and prolific researcher serving in Editorial Boards and graduate student advising committees. He has 87 refereed journal articles, 3 book chapters, 3 patents, and numerous citations. He is the former professor of CA Dean, Dr. Julius Jerome Ele, who introduced him during the webinar.

Dr. Michael J. Azain, Professor Emeritus of the Animal and Dairy Science Department of the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia, United States of America presents his lecture on “Feed Intake Regulation in Non-ruminant Animals”.

Dr. Azain discussed “Feed Intake Regulation in Non-Ruminant Animals” which is a crucial topic in animal production considering that feed costs constitute majority of the animal production cost and that animal health is affected by the quality and quantity of feed intake. He stressed that animals adjust their intake based on changes in their diet and changes in physiological needs at different growth stages.

The webinar is part of the Agri-World Connect webinar series of the College of Agriculture that aims to deliver extension services, as one of CA’s four-fold functions, and disseminate information and technologies to learners, farmers, stakeholders, and clienteles. The webinar was attended by 500 participants nationwide.
