Dr. Jurhamid C. Imlan, Station Superintendent of the University of Southern Mindanao Agricultural Research and Development Center (USMARDC) and a faculty of the Department of Animal Science of the College of Agriculture – University of Southern Mindanao, was invited  as a resource person by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao in a 2-day training on Halal-compliant Goat Production  and pasture development to fifty (50) newly hired MAFAR Municipal Officers (MMO) coming from the different provinces of BARMM (Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Maguindanao, Lanao del Sur and Cotabato City) at Golden Lace Resto, Cotabato City on September 21-21, 2021.

The training aims  to enhance the knowledge and to equip agricultural extension workers (AEW’s) on Halal goat production, pasture development, establishment, management, utilization, and fodder conservation. Moreover, Halal concept and principles were discussed in the said training. The workshop on ration formulation, silage making and hay making was facilitated by the MAFAR-BARMM Senior Agriculturist Ms. Seeham S. Pangol.  Moreover, Engr. Ismail A Guiamel, Director II for Agricultural Services of MAFAR-BARMM inspired and encouraged the trainees to be more aggressive and involve themselves in the promotion of Halal goat production and forage production in their respective municipalities under MAFAR- BARMM.
