The members of the National Organic Agriculture Board paid visit to the main campus of the University of Southern Mindanao on March 1, 2022. Lea C. Deniquito, Alexandra D. Suga, Dyesel G. Cezar, and Bernadette San Juan, members of the board of directors, met with Dr. Francisco Gil N. Garcia, USM President and other members of the university administrative council including Dr. Eimer M. Estilloso, Vice President for Administration and Finance, Dr. Geoffray R. Atok, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Samsudin S. Panday Vice President for Resource Generation and Services.  Dr. Adeflor G. Garcia, Vice President of the Organic Agriculture Society of the Philippines-Mindanao Chapter, was also present to facilitate the discussion between the members of the NOAB and the members of the university administrative council.

One of the agenda in the meeting was the 2022 National Organic Agriculture Scientific Conference in November 2022 which will be hosted by the University of Southern Mindanao. This is the second time that USM will host the event. As presented by NOAB, the three-day conference will include presentations of scientific studies related to organic agriculture, exhibit on crops, livestock, poultry, and fertilizers, and tour to nearby organic farms. Delegates from all across the Philippines will attend this event. Distinguished professionals, well-known representatives from the Department of Agriculture and organic farmer practitioners from all regions in the country will attend the event.

The National Organic Agriculture Scientific Conference is an annual event organized by a number of state universities and colleges around the country which intends to bring together advocates, practitioners, and enthusiasts from both the academic and non-academic communities in the country to form a society dedicated to promoting organic agriculture in the country. Further, NOAS is part of the Department of Agriculture Organic Agriculture Program which aims to promote, propagate, further develop, and implement organic agriculture in the Philippines in order to create a competitive and sustainable organic industry that contributes to better income and sustainable livelihood.
