Outgoing CA Dean, Dr. Josephine R. Migalbin, hands over the key of responsibility to incoming CA Dean Dr. Julius Jerome G. Ele, in a simple ceremony at the CA-Covered Court, University of Southern Mindanao last July 21, 2021.
In attendance were President Francisco Gil N. Garcia represented by Dr. Edna Luz T. De Guzman the Admission and Records Office Director, USM Faculty Association President, Dr. Geoffray R. Atok, and the College of Agriculture faculty and staff. The supportive and loving family of Dr. Ele was also present during the ceremony.
“I am now turning over the key of responsibility to Dr. Ele. I truly know that the College of Agriculture is in good hands for Dr. Ele is a young, dynamic, and very capable man. I know that so well for he is a good friend of mine. With his good management skills and hardworking attitude, surely the College will maintain its excellence status and even become better in academic and extracurricular endeavors,” says Dr. Migalbin who led the College from July 1, 2018 to July 30, 2021.
“I accept the duties and responsibilities given to me as the new Dean of the College of Agriculture,” responds Dr. Ele. “I will definitely try my very best to continue positioning the CA as the best and excellent academic unit of the University and in Region XII and beyond.”
Dr. Ele hopes and asks for the all-out support and cooperation of the CA Family saying “I will be a persevering and humble leader and I am asking for your support to help me continue make the USM’s College of Agriculture as the best stronghold of excellence. In the next few days, I will be choosing individuals to continue making our best aspirations for the College. I am thus counting on your continued cooperation and support.”
“May there be no hesitation on your decisions but that your hearts may be filled with service and “bayanihan” for our students and the community. Thank you and Mabuhay po ang magsasaka at mangingisdang Pilipino. Mabuhay ang USM College of Agriculture. Together, let us support the USM College of Agriculture,” said Dr. Ele.
Dr. Ele, Professor VI, is the former Associate Dean of the College of Agriculture. Prior to that, he is the Department Chairperson of Animal Science Department, CA-ISO Coordinator, USM Internal Auditor, AACCUP Accreditor, and Vice President for Mindanao of Fulbright- Philippine Department of Agriculture Scholars.
